What is a Fool Squad show?A Fool Squad show is a connected series of comic sketches, centered around your particular group or occassion! If you've seen the comic Greenshows at the Idaho Shakespeare Festival, it's something like that except specifically geared (in full or in part) to your event. Our shows have included: What different types of shows are available and what are the costs? The Fool Squad offers several different shows to fit your needs from semi or fully customized shows to emceeing your event. Each holiday season we also offer our original Fooltide Carol holiday show. Click on the "Our Shows" button or link and check out our show descriptions and prices. A NOTE ABOUT OUR PRICES: Tom and Joe have been entertaining audiences at ISF and for businesses and private parties for over 15 years. Many people don't realize that the actual performance is a small part of the work that goes into one of our shows. We spend countless hours researching, writing, rewriting, preparing PowerPoint presentations, gathering props, rehearsing the timing and, ultimately, performing at your event. Our prices reflect the preparation and execution of our performances. Can I see samples of your work? The Fool Squad has a YouTube page with video examples of some of our past work. These video samples are from Idaho Shakespeare Festival Greenshows, television/PSA projects, and excerpts from our past Holiday Shows. Click on the "Fool Squad Video Clips" link on our home page. We're always adding more clips to watch! We're a professional/business group, is your comedy appropriate for our gathering?Fool Squad shows are PERFECT for businesses of all types. Corporate humor is our specialty. In the past we've performed for banks, hospitals, education groups, construction companies, political groups, award shows, etc. We are not foul-mouthed comics. In the pre-show interviews we can discuss any concerns you may have about the type of humor appropriate for your audience. Is your show appropriate for children's parties? While we do customize our comedy for your particular group, no child in their right mind wants a middle-aged comic; get them a clown or a magician. Do you know any clowns or magicians? No. Check the Yellow Pages. Do you entertain for teenagers or young adult parties (graduations, etc.)?We have performed for several graduations and birthday parties for young adults. If you have kids who are Shakespeare fans and love the Greenshows, they might not resent you for booking us instead of a band for their big event. I heard that the Fool Squad can not only perform at my wedding but they can actually perform my wedding! Is that true?Yes, Tom and Joe are recently ordained ministers. we can officiate wedding ceremonies, christenings, and exorcisms, amongst other things (we're still reading the manual). If you feel confident that your marriage could survive it - we'll marry you!! Yes, it's legal. I want to book the Fool Squad! What happens next?First thing is to click on the "Request a Show!" link on our home page. Fill out the request form with your dates, times, and locations, etc. Also, please note the type of show you'd like ("semi-custom," "fully-custom," "emcee," or "officiate my wedding"). Tom and Joe will check your requested dates for availability. We will get back to you as soon as possible and set up an interview. What do you need to know for a semi-custom or fully-custom show?We will set up an interview with you (and/or with others in your planning party) either in person or by phone to go over the details of your event. We will send a questionnaire to get us started with gathering research. We will ask for information regarding the nature of the event, the person being honored, or background on the particular business or gathering. We will also send along a Letter of Agreement stating all the particulars concerning arrival time, locations, payment information, deposit, etc.. Do you require a deposit?Yes. Since we will begin researching your event and writing material, as well as holding your date and time while potentially turning away other bookings, we ask for a deposit. How much of a deposit do you require? For fully-custom and semi-custom shows: $250. For an emcee performance: $200. For a Holiday Show: $100 |
